Shiur For Yom ha-Zikkaron: In Memory of Sgt. Shuki Hefetz ז"ל

This past Wednesday, during the transition between יום הזיכרון and יום העצמאות, I delivered a half hour shiur on the topic: על קדושת השם, העם והארץ. The point of departure is the, prima facie, jarring equation of the sanctity of God, on the one hand, and that of the Jewish People and the Land of Israel, on the other. The point was to show that the latter two derive from the former. The basic points were based upon insights that I heard from Rav Soloveitchik זצ"ל.

The שיעור was dedicated, in particular, to the memory of Sgt. Shuki Hefetz זצ"ל, who died in the line of duty, on 27 Nissan 5772, the last soldier to fall before Israel's 64th Independence Day.

The שיעור (and the sources) are available at YUTorah, here.
