Ruminations on Life, Orthodoxy, Israel and Academia
Jeff,I can't believe that you are falling for the "natural growth" baloney. Say that there is a political debate about the yishuvim. When my son who lives in Katamon gets married (IMH in Tishrei) I am not claiming that he has a legal right to build in Katamon.
First of all, Mazal Tov!Second, your son does have an inalienable right to build where he wants, as long as he pays his fees, doesn't violate the zoning laws and gets his building permits.Third, of course there is a political debate. However, in this fight for Life or Death (yes, Life or Death- Historians should understand that better than most), the packaging is no less important than the substance.
